Perched among the Andean peaks at 8000 feet, along the Inca Trail, our Finca is located 60 miles north of Cafayate, in the Pucará Valley IG.
We pioneered into this unchartered territory and discovered one of the most unique terroirs in the world based on its altitude, climate, soils and orientation. The terroir called for making of legendary wines and we embraced the challenge.
Ours is a finca that tells that story, a journey through adversity to excellence.: the challenge of chartering an unexplored wine terroir and dealing with the extreme conditions at high altitudes in the Valle del Pucará.
In this remote corner of the world, untouched by civilization, forgotten by time, we worked together with the local inhabitants to transform a desert into vineyards. We made possible, the impossible. And in this epic challenge we were all transformed by the journey.
We learned that even the most advanced agronomic or winemaking techniques required dramatic adjustments to the extreme conditions of the Pucará Valley. We also learned to cooperate with nature, to listen to words of ancestral wisdom, to develop an almost superhuman resilience to start again and again and again after two floods washed away everything we had planted. Ultimately, we made possible the impossible and our legendary wines Tenaz and Tozudo are a tribute to the journey.
